Handmade and designed by Anna von Lipa's founder, Jytte Correll. Since 1996, Anna von Lipa has collaborated with the oldest and most important glass blowers in Europe, designing and producing luxurious blown glass works of art. The glasswork is proudly produced in Bohemia, Czech Republic, the glass empire of Central Europe. in the design and shapes there is the influence of the Danish lifestyle, a mix of modern design, vintage and craftsmanship. Jytte Correll is Anna von Lipa's founder and principal stylist. She has been drawing since she graduated from VIA University College Campus Herning in 1988. About the use of glass: Glass is a fantastic material. It is both fragile and incredibly strong. It possesses physical strength, withstands, for example, moisture, sun and frost. But it is equally strong in its artistic and aesthetic expression. The transparency and reflection of the glass create depth when it plays with the light in refractions and reflections. Blown glass is a fascinating and time-consuming process. The artist handles the glass when it is still liquid until it is 1300˚ Celsius. A glass is blown from several layers and therefore air bubbles are likely to form. Smaller air bubbles characterize handcrafted glass and we do not consider this to be a deterioration in quality Glass care: Our crystal glasses are dishwasher safe if they are subject to the following recommendations: - Use a short, shorter washing program at 60˚ Celsius, without drying program. - Open the door of the dishwasher so that the water can evaporate and dry the glasses with a cloth. - Our glasses are resistant to weak acids but not to stronger acids like the various descaling agents that are usually bought at home. We recommend using citric or acetic acid instead. HOWEVER, HAND WASHING IS RECOMMENDED. Natural colors: A combination of traditional technology and earth minerals summarizes the particularity of the colors present. Our bluish shades are obtained by adding Cobalt Oxide to the liquid glass. Green and brownish colors are associated with iron. Pink and Ruby with gold chloride. Quality: Anna von Lipa crystal glasses do not contain lead. In some products where greater strength, lightness and brilliance are required, the element barium is used.
