About Escape Boutique

We are an independent womenswear and lifestyle store established in 2004 in Whitley Bay on the beautiful coast of Newcastle. A cool Danish aesthetic runs through our boutique and is reflected in the product range from clothing brands, jewellery collections and homeware, laid back style and design led product is at the heart of what we do. Carefully curated collections are chosen to sit perfectly together, quality and great detail are key, always playful and with a strong focus on colour and print. We work hard to create a beautiful environment that our customers want to come back to and try to reflect that online too. We work with sought after fashion brands such as Part Two, Numph, Fly London, Gola, and Armor Lux as well as exciting newly established brands providing interesting new product that our customers haven’t seen before. With a growing emphasis on sustainability, a significant proportion of our product is both ethical and sustainable and as a business we strive to work as sustainably as we can. Whitley Bay has recently been named number 3 in The Times best places to live hot list and our amazing street Park View has been named as one of the best independent shopping streets in the world.

From the founder

Lisa left her career in finance to follow her passion for fashion and a dream to run her own business. In 2004 Escape, located in a beautiful art deco fronted corner position, opened it’s doors for the first time as a premium shoe shop. In the passing 19 years, the shop has grown, expanding into the neighbouring property and evolved into one of the leading womenswear and lifestyle boutiques in the North East. 10 years ago, her husband Carl joined her and opened Mitchells Menswear 2 doors away.
