Everything to See, Shop & Do in July

From the Barbie film finally hitting our screens in all its hot pink glory to a divas deep dive at the V&A’s blockbuster new exhibition in London, the month of July is for icons only. Alongside a whole host of exciting events to get involved with across our boutique community, you won’t be at a loss for fun in the sun, that’s for sure. Read on as we give you a rundown of everything to see, shop and do in July.

1. Barbie

It’s finally time to enter the wonderful world of Barbie. Without a doubt the film of the year, it’s already making waves and from fuchsia fashion collections to the dream-like Architectural Digest Barbie Dream House tour, there’s no escaping all things pink. We can’t wait to see Greta Gerwig’s contemporary take on themes of perfection, beauty standards and femininity. Come on, dolls, let’s hit the cinema - it’s Barbie’s world, we’re just living in it.

Barbie, at cinemas nationwide from 21st July

2. Pelegrims DIY Facial Workshop with Westwell Wines

PSA: Pelegrims is one of the coolest sustainable skincare brands on the scene right now, making all of its collections with the waste grape product of Kent-based wine makers Westwell Wines. In July, they’re teaming up with Westwell to host a DIY facial workshop on the vineyard’s grounds. The day includes a mini tour of the vineyard, a 90 minute tutorial from Pelegrims and a tasting of their current wines - perfect for a gift for someone special, or a little treat for yourself.

13th July, Westwell Wines, Ashford, TN27 0BW

3. Diva, V&A

One of the most anticipated exhibitions of the year finally opens its doors this month, and we couldn’t be more excited. The V&A’s star-studded DIVA exhibition “celebrates the power and creativity of iconic performers, exploring and redefining the role of 'diva' and how this has been subverted or embraced over time across opera, stage, popular music, and film.” From show-stopping outfits to infamous artworks, there’s something for everyone within its gallery walls.

4. Jewellery-Making Workshop with Épanoui Lifestyle

Join the team at Bedford-based boutique Épanoui for a jewellery workshop and make your very own set of 3 stacking rings. On the 19th July, the indie store will be hosting an evening led by Jade Hibbert, its resident jewellery maker - a wonder at the bench and a font of knowledge. Grab a complementary cuppa and cake then get designing, cutting, soldering and shaping your very own handmade hierlooms you’ll wear forever.

5. Mini Makeovers with Bomonde Make Up at Blomma Beauty

One of our favourite spots at London’s Coal Drops Yard is independent boutique Blomma Beauty.
