Ykra (pronounced EEK-RAH) was founded by designer Balázs Lakatos in the basement of a bar in the center of Budapest in 2011, with the aim of creating a vintage-style hiking backpack for daily use.

They manufacture lasting quality products that look and the sensation of a past era using a thick and durable cotton canvas originally made for tents. Inspired by the Culture of Hiking of Eastern Europe in the 1970s.
