The salad bowls are one of the original and most iconic Wonki Ware products. They really do make a simple salad look beautiful. Each one is unique.
Wonki Ware is a range of exclusive dinnerware and tableware that is hand crafted in South Africa through a truly artisanal process. They employ around 80 people from disadvantaged backgrounds who are now all skilled employees in their trade, and are valuable, contributing members in their communities.
Every single item is made by hand, from a small salt dish to a large platter. No matter how small or big, they each go through the same creative process, which sees the clay moulded, shaped, smoothed and painted during 15 different stages on the journey from clay to table.

Earthy, organic pieces that exude a delicate feel, each and every item is unique and a true one-off. The ceramic studio was founded by Di Marshall in 2008, everything is made from organic, recycled South African clay, each item goes through around 14 pairs of hands before it’s considered to be completed. Giving back to the community from which her pieces are made is important to Di, and Wonki Ware has started a ceramic school to teach local South Africans about the art of pottery. “Developing our variety of shapes and patterns has given us the opportunity to be ahead of most trends, helping us create a classic product that’s timeless and vibrant”.
