Alexander Girard Large Wooden Dog. The dog consists of three pieces joined by magnets. The dolls are supplied accompanied by brochures and packed in a high quality stamped wooden box.
Girard (1907-1993) created a modernist style that's unique to the USA. He was heavily influenced by Bauhaus. Part Italian, and had a particular talent for colour and pattern making, to be seen in his textiles and graphics.
Vitra, who own the Girard archive, based the present dolls on the originals created by Girard.
