Thames & Hudson Things Come Apart 2.0: A Teardown Manual For Modern Living Book
Wedgwood: Craft & Design
In 2014 the Wedgwood Collection was placed in the trust of the Victoria and Albert Museum and a dedicated museum was built on the factory site at Barlaston in Staffordshire to house the collection. If you haven't been I highly recommend it - the incredible work that Josiah Wedgwood and his successors did both in terms of individual pieces made but also in terms of pushing forward clays, glazes and firing is beautifully displayed in the museum.
This book is written by the chief curator, Catrin Jones and has a foreword by Tristram Hunt. Jones arranges the book chronologically revealing the landmark developments of the company: the introduction of Queen's ware, then the development of Jasperware and working with luminaries such as Christopher Dresser and Eric Ravilious.
This book will whet your appetite for Wedgwood ceramics and for the museum near Stoke-on-Trent.
