Sarah Young Woodcut Books and Doves Print
This print is of the Pavilion Gardens in Brighton, England. It is printed with a pale emerald and richer yellowy brown ink. The garden has been replanted as it would have been around the time it was originally made in the 1820's.They were designed by John Nash as a picturesque pleasure ground for George IV. This print is a woodcut, it is made from two blocks of wood that have been cut, inked and then printed using a F.A.G. letterpress proofing press. It has been printed onto Zerkall cotton rag printmaking paper.
