Rosendahl Grand Cru Water Carafe & Tumbler Set
Kay Bojesen Monkey Small Teak
Designed in 1951, Kay Bojesen's Teak Monkey is probably the most well-known character in his collectible menagerie and remains a classic for children and adults alike. With its cheeky looks and long, movable limbs, the Monkey has an irresistible charm that will not fade over time. What may start its life as a childhood toy is very likely to find pride of place in a home or office of the future. Beautifully packaged in a gift box. Bojeson's beautifully crafted design would make an ideal gift for a christening or newborn but would be equally well-received as a special birthday or graduation present.
Kay Bojesen's intention was never to create exact replicas of wildlife, but rather to produce animals whose designs reflected a child's view of animals. His creations, designed between the 1930s-50s, were to be based on simple, beautiful shapes, tactile materials and should inspire imaginative play. Thus his charming menagerie of solid, tactile designs took shape. Fulfilling Bojesen's dream, his playful collection of animals and figurines, now produced by the respected Danish Rosendahl Group, have become treasured classics the world over.
