New to the Wiinblad collection at The Scandinavian Shop and joining her sisters the Eva Vases and Flowerpots, the slightly taller Eva Candle Holder possesses the familiar round head and vivid use of colour reminiscent of vintage Wiinblad pieces. With soft pinks and blues, decorative floral relief details and rosy cheeks, the Candle Holder is a superb contemporary interpretation of Scandinavian folk art - a throwback to Wiinblad's original work. Using the artist's own drawings for the gentle facial features and even the pattern on the dress design, there is an authenticity and a nostalgia about these pieces which makes them so very likeable.
