The adventurer n ° 7 is a classic of the Opinel brand. Designed over 120 years ago by Joseph Opinel, it is a multi -use knife that is perfect for adventurers. It has an 8 cm stainless steel blade and a wooden handle. Opinel baruster n ° 7 is equipped with the Virobloc® safety system. A leather link at the end of the handle allows you to hang it or hang it easily. Opinel knives are made in France. This white wood with a little marked vein is ideal to be able to color it without losing the texture of the wood. Then, a varnish is applied to protect the handle from humidity and dirt. The curved shape of the handle allows good grip of the knife. The blade: Yatagan blade is the traditional opinel blade. Its particular shape with a highlighted point is inspired by a saber of Turkish origin. The blade has a bulging profile obtained by grinding which gives it robustness and facilitates its refectioning. The stainless steel used is of European origin. It is a stainless steel hammer of hardness 55-57 HRC which offers great resistance to corrosion and very good mechanical performance. This blade has an excellent cutting edge and great resistance to abrasion. It can therefore easily be put in contact with hard materials. A reaffecting and the blade will all recover its cutting edge. Very robust, it will still show its limits if it is put in prolonged contact with materials or in an abrasive environment. (salt water, acid, ...). Stainless steel requires no particular maintenance. The Virobloc® safety ring: Marcel Opinel invented this safety system for folding knives in 1955 . This stainless steel ring composed of two parts: a sliding and the other fixed. It makes it possible by turning it to block the knife in the open position to facilitate its use. Since then, the Virobloc® system has been improved to also allow the knife to vend the closed position and thus also secure its transport.
