These Pocket Books are crafted entirely in-house at Ola’s Bristol studio. The ideal companion for note-taking on the move, they have been designed to offer the same quality and durability as their signature notebooks, but in a new compact size.

They have been developing these books for a long time, and wanted to ensure that whether they are being used for shopping lists, field notes or on-the-go sketches - these are a joy to use.

Ola have selected a beautiful 120gsm ivory paper stock for the pages, with a pleasing texture and good opacity (fountain pen friendly, as always). You’ll find 32 pages inside, that have been simply saddle stitched at the spine.

Each is a bespoke size inspired by traditional Japanese bindings, chosen so that it can be easily slipped into a pocket or bag, but with enough room on each page for sketches and scribbles.

The covers are traditionally printed and cut from large heavy-weight sheets of our signature patterned papers. This means each cover is unique and (so we think) even more special. A simple brass foil logo adds the finishing touch, hand-foiled to the back of each book.

Each set features 2 prints and is presented carefully wrapped in a hand-printed band.

Ola is a British paper goods brand established in 2013 by designer Katy Goutefangea. Working exclusively with UK makers, ola produce beautiful everyday items with an emphasis on craft, quality and traditional manufacture.

Each item is a celebration of pattern and simplicity. Informed by elements of architecture and abstract geometry, and inspired by artists such as Sol Lewitt, Anni Albers and Donald Judd. Using age-old processes, such as stitching instead of glueing and ink laid with a roller, each piece has an individual distinction, charm and character that can only come from traditional craftsmanship.
