Niwaki Higurashi Snips
Shumatsu Secateurs
These secateurs from Niwaki are made in Japan with carbon steel blades and an aluminium handle. The handle has a dimpled surface which makes it very reassuring in the hand; you can feel the small indentations and therefore the handles are less likely to slip in your hand when they are in use.
The maximum cutting diameter when you are using these secateurs for pruning is 10mm. The blades are 55mm in length. For cutting stems or branches of a greater diameter than 10mm you are probably better off using a small saw. Good tools such as these should be well maintained to get the best from them. We recommend sharpening them with a Niwaki #1000 stone and cleaning with Crean Mate, they can then be protected from rust with a drop of Camellia Oil.
The secateurs are supplied in a smart Niwaki branded cardboard outer box.
