A collaboration between HAY and artist Laila Gohar that celebrates the joy of meeting family and friends over a good meal, the Sobremesa Stripe Cookie Jar is a striped storage container designed to add a decorative edge to any table setting or kitchen.

The Sobremesa cookie jar van HAY is hand-painted in stoneware with a colourful striped pattern that gives each jar a unique quality, it can also be used for storing tea and coffee or non-food items.

about the designer:

Laila Gohar is a conceptual artist and chef who works with food as her artistic medium. She creates immersive experiences that blur the line between performance and dining. Gohar was born in Egypt, where she grew up in a large family of passionate cooks and hosts. She is now based in New York City where she works internationally, and is known for her high profile collaborations across art, design and fashion. Laila also writes a monthly column called How to Host It for FT’s How to Spend It magazine. For HAY, Laila Gohar has designed the Sobremesa Collection – a series of tableware and kitchen accessories designed to celebrate the joy of hosting.
