Tara Ashe founded Block Design in 2000, driven by her passion to combine her love for design with her engineering background. The range begun with a vase, but has since expanded to incorporate desk accessories, jewellery and further homeware items. Their UK-based studio is now home to a team of seven creatives, who take the brand’s colourful aesthetic and turn it into playful, everyday objects that marry function with form artfully. Each product uses no more than two components to complete its purpose, which gives rise to bold shapes and strong lines throughout Block Design’s vibrant pieces. The brand’s stockists include Moma and Tate Modern, adding kudos to the authentic design-led nature of Block Design’s products.
