The N3B was the first jacket that Alpha Industries made for the United States Government in 1959 and that happened to produce for the consumer market in the 1980s for crews of the USAF that were assigned for the transport of troops in extremely cold climates . The Parkas were originally made with an outer nylon layer and lining and an interwoven of wool. Wool interview was replaced by polyester in the 1970s . Modern N3B have bowed pockets in the chest and pockets with lower flap on the shield, a panel that holds with ties through the zipper to prevent the entry of synthetic wind and skin around the hood. The N3B VF model is Slimfit cut and has been designed as a cold weather parka for extreme climatic conditions. The aerodynamic silhouette offers a unique adjustment, while the thick nylon lining and the length of the garment offers superior protection against the cold and adverse wind conditions. 100% Nylon and outer cover with Nylon and Polyfill lining. Hood lined with synthetic skin and adorned with imitation of removable coyote skin. Includes waist adjustment. Reinforced codes for tear resistance and design elements.
