One of the most typical materials used for military wear is cotton herringbone fabric. Herringbone fabric, with its tight grain, was developed as anti-gas protection clothing during World War II. This shirt is a Buzz Rickson's original. Compared to the herringbone fabric normally used for shirts, about twice the amount of yarn is used to produce this fabric, so it can withstand hard use and the more it is worn, the more its texture increases.
