P: Playing

Stirring it Up with Andi and Miquita Oliver

Are Andi and Miquita the most iconic Mother-Daughter duo going? Honestly, quite possibly - and their podcast Stirring it Up is not one to be missed. While Andi cooks up a storm for their weekly guests, Miquita creates a tailored drink for each as they delve into an in-depth chat about their careers and lives. Its atmospheric fly-on-the-wall nature is inviting and welcoming, while the conversation is deeply insightful. You’ll come away feeling as though you’ve known both them, and their guests, for years - a great one for while you’re cooking, or for an evening stroll this January.

R: Reading

Tom Lake by Ann Patchett

If you’re already a fan of Patchett’s writing, you’ll understand why we had to get Tom Lake in here. From gorgeous scene setting to complex character relationships - with each other, with the outside world - this book is one to be devoured in your downtime. It’s the story of a mother, who’s 3 daughters join her on their family’s cherry farm during the pandemic, and while away hours picking cherries hearing about their mother’s past. Specifically, one summer in her early twenties in which she dates a now-famous actor. Escapism at its finest - get it on your reading lists.

E: Eating

Alana Laverty’s Breakfast smoothie

We know it’s a bit of a cliche, but starting your days this January with a good breakfast is one of the best ways to ensure you’re off to an even keel. We’re only slightly obsessed with Alana’s breakfast smoothie - not the prettiest but definitely tasty, and packed full of revitalising ingredients (Why is it that the worst colours make the best smoothies?). Watch here as she takes you through the recipe for her banana, berries and dates smoothie with added spinach and oats for long lasting energy. Trust us, it’s a winner.

V: Visiting

Happy Gas - Sarah Lucas, at Tate Britain

“A British artist's brash and tender exploration of what makes us human”, Sarah Lucas’ exhibition, Happy Gas, at Tate Britain in London is the perfect afternoon out this January. Looking at themes of gender, sexuality and class over the last 3 decades, Lucas has become known for her provocative approach and challenging pieces, and this exhibition is just that - provocative and challenging. A culmination of her previous works, you’re taken on a journey through her archive, mind and humour. We loved it. You’ll have to hurry if you want to catch this one though, the exhibition closes on Sunday 14th January.

I: Inspiration

Maison Cotidiano’s Instagram Feed

Looking to make some updates to your home this year? Add some interior inspiration to your Instagram feed by following Maison Cotidiano. The Lisbon architecture firm certainly knows a thing or two when it comes to interior design, and we’re absolutely loving their curated feed and snippets of projects across Europe. We’re already making a list of ideas thanks to their eye for detail and vintage-inspired designs.

E: Exploring

New Skincare Favourites with Nads

Wanting to give your skincare routine a shake up in the new year? Us too. We’re taking the lead from our resident creator, Nads Bacchus, who’s been loving the Plenaire Essentials Set and Zizzia Botanicals Lip Balms - both of which known for their sustainable and organic ingredients. Watch here as she takes you through her new routine and discoveries to get a little inspiration for your own.

W: Watching

Fellow Travellers on Paramount+

Looking for something with binge watch potential this January? Look no further than Fellow Travellers, the drama starring Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey. Set across America from the 1950s through to the 80s, the show follows the pair's tumultuous relationship as they navigate the volatile circumstances of plagues, wars, protests and an uncertain political landscape. Tender, endearing and oh-so-engrossing.
