1. Life in Technicolour

"The new season has exploded with colour! We are seeing a much bigger range of colours including the most beautiful, soft pastels across all menswear. Even the workwear brands that usually stick to the traditional menswear palette of navy, charcoal and olive are offering colours that evoke blue skies and misty mountains. Check out the sweats and tees from Edwin."

2. Buttoned Up

"No longer just for geography teachers and TV crooners. Cardigans are becoming the smart part of your layering wardrobe. YMC have delivered some of the best this season in rainbow colours and super soft pima cottons. This trend is set to continue through autumn '23 when cardi-mania will continue with chunky fisherman knits and elegant merinos."

3. Bang for Your Buck

"Customers both in store and online are looking to make their money go as far as possible. This means they are looking at the brands that they know deliver great, stylish, multi-tasking pieces that work with their look and their lifestyle. Anything that can be used daily is key. Bags and small accessories from Rains, Fjallraven and Sandqvist are all great examples of this."

4. Matching The Wallpaper

"Maybe it’s because brands have been cautious about offering anything too unusual to customers for a couple of seasons but there hasn’t been a lot of pattern in menswear. Suddenly it’s everywhere! Look out for tropical prints, uplifting florals and crazy abstracts on swimwear, short sleeve shirts and hats (especially the mighty bucket hat which isn’t going anywhere). Pattern may look scary at first glance but it’s easy to add in small doses to everyday, casual looks; or go for a head to foot look on holiday, at festivals or just to enjoy long days in the sun."

5. Best Foot Forward

"Footwear is our biggest area of growth. Customers recognise that good footwear is worth investing in. Veja continues to dominate as the trainer of choice for customers who want an elegant but technical shoe especially for those who don’t want to scream their allegiance to a sportswear brand. Paraboot is the shoe for the guy who knows his understated, chic footwear and is a great smarter option for casual weddings, days at the races or even for the office. And Birkenstock continues to be the shoe for everyone – the Boston clog is still on the ‘must have’ lists but look out for softer colours, new styles and some really premium leathers this season."
