5 AW22 Trends to Refresh Your Wardrobe

Independent fashion boutique Wild Swans share their favourite sartorial updates for the new season

As the seasons change and temperatures drop, we’re ready to give our wardrobe a little AW22 refresh. A far cry from the ease of summer’s throw-it-on-and-go dresses, the colder months come with quite a few sartorial challenges, from finding the perfect winter coat to mastering the art of layering. To help you prepare for cosy season dressing, we asked London-based fashion boutique Wild Swans to share their 5 sartorial updates for the autumn

Grab Your Coat

Transitioning into the new season always starts with finding the perfect coat, and with new styles from our favourite labels landing in store, you’re spoiled for choice this season. Wild Swans’ favourite piece this year is Baum und Pferdgarten’s Dory Coat. “Last year, this coat sold out within weeks. Now it’s back in two new colourways - burgundy and cream - and we even have the matching bags for each!”

Go All Out

Party dresses are back with a vengeance. “This season we have sequins, jacquard, velvet and a whole collection of LBDs to choose from.” After two years of mostly spending the festive season at home, we’re ready to go all out with our party wardrobe. Looking to go bold with colour? Green is the colour of the season! Samsoe Samsoe has gone in strong with the vibrant green, which you will see in knitwear, trousers and dresses.

Remix Your Summer Dresses

The new season needn’t mean having to invest in a whole new wardrobe. We’re firm believers in repeat wears, and giving your existing pieces as much airtime as possible. “Make your summer dresses last all year round by swapping your sandals for boots and layering with oversized knitwear and jackets,” Wild Swans say.

Embrace The Layers

When it comes to the perfect layering staple, look no further than wardrobe icon: the roll neck. “It's a cold day saviour and makes layering easy. We love styling ours under summer dresses so we can wear them into winter. It's also perfect to wear under blouses, knitted vests and gilets for that extra layer that doesn't look bulky.”

Head Masters

The finishing touch? “Without fail, every year our customers can't get enough of our beanie hat selection, so much so that we sold out before Christmas last year. Don't worry we've made sure that we are stocked up this season!” Whether you coordinate yours with your look - we’re going for acid greens and pinks this season - or make it a statement piece against a more neutral outfit, there’s no cooler way to keep warm.
