Mezzadro from 1970 is a design project that obviously aims to use an existing object in the same form, but elsewhere and with a different function: a tractor seat designed at the beginning of the 20th century, which here becomes a modern stool for our houses . The prototype was presented in the exhibition in Villa Olmo in 1957. It consists of four elements: seat, fastening bolt, support rod and foot. There is also a well-known object in the special fastening system that is used, among other things, to lock bicycle wheels: a large wing nut, thanks to which the seat can be easily tightened without a screwdriver or wrench. The seat is made of painted sheet steel; the support rod made of stainless steel for the seat is also available on the tractor, but rotated in the other direction to absorb the impact of the vehicle on the ground. It serves here to create a free-swinging base. The solid beech wood base, vaguely reminiscent of a balance beam, provides the other two points of support required for the stability of the seat.
