LIGHT: Due to having less chlorophyll in the leaves, the white wash Aphelandra Squarrosa requires brighter conditions than its darker green counterparts. Place in bright, indirect light such as in a North facing window. However be cautious of bright direct sunlight during the summer months which can lead to leaf burn and dry soil. The plant can also survive in lower light conditions, but will need less water and will grow slower as a result.
WATER: The best way to water this plant is little and often, keeping the soil moist with warm water. However, one of the common problems in Aphelandra is drooping or falling leaves usually due to overwatering. Check weekly but make sure the top inch of soil dries out between watering.
HUMIDITY: Mist frequently during the growing season or place on a pebble tray.
TEMPERATURE: Prefer warm climates and will do well in average household temperatures of around 18-21c
FEED: Feed throughout the summer months.
