Mobile of two abstract plywood pieces, designed by Vitra inspired by the designs of Charles and Ray Eames.
In the early 1940s, Charles and Ray Eames conducted a series of experiments in order to improve their plywood modeling techniques. The Eameses hung this creation—abstract elements reminiscent of their illustrations and graphics—from the ceiling of their Los Angeles apartment as moving elements.
Each Plywood Mobile consists of two elements that rotate one inside the other. Spin them around happily and they will hypnotize you.
