Serax Pot Marie Earth Paper Mache
Tall and narrow, or small and round, with large or small handles – of which the one may be a little lower than the other – no mug in the papier-mâché collection of Marie Michielssen is the same. The clearly visible rough structure of the material, the reddish brown, black and light grey 'primordial’ colours and the manually stippled prints reinforce the individuality of each pot with all its imperfections, just as Nature does in its creations. Earth by Marie Michielssen
A profound love of paper and prints and the reuse of materials has inspired Marie Michielssen to create a series of characteristic lamps and pots in papier-mâché, for Serax. Playing with volumes, she creates a new visual print. The unique, traditional character is not only reflected in the print, but also in the shape and colours.

From inception the products that feature in Serax collections; from tableware, glass, and furniture to flowerpots and lighting; are chosen for the purpose of creating interiors that bring happiness. Founded in Antwerp in 1986 by brothers Serge and Axel Van Den Bossche, the company loves to work with designers who are passionate about what they do, and source craftspeople; from Vietnam to Portugal; to bring those products to life. Serax's collection ranges from the iconic fish carafe designed with Paola Navarone, to the stonewashed ceramics created in collaboration with Merci in Paris. A home is the mirror of the personality of those who live in it, they say, therefore, Serax and its team of designers only selects and edits products that have soul.
