Designed in Bilbao. Made in Spain. SEI is a collective of Bilbao based emerging fashion designers who have been discovered by BIAAF’s biannual international competition. Chaired by Sara Sozzanni Maino, Head of Vogue Talents, BIAAF’s Art & Fashion competition has already reached over 5,000 emerging designers from over 90 countries, coming from the most renowned fashion design schools worldwide, aiming for intercultural enrichment by showing the different approaches of fashion towards art and the promotion of fashion as a true cultural value. Our Advisory Committee is composed by personalities coming from the world of Culture, Academia, and Fashion Industry, and we count with PhD. Valerie Steele, Director and Chief Curator of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York. as Honorary President as well as Mr. Juan Ignacio Vidarte, Deputy Director and Chief Officer for Global Strategies of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. Director of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, among others. SEI has created this capsule collection for BIAAF reinterpreting their common roots and traditions, paying tribute to Basque Heritage, from popular costumes to universal local artists, such as Ignacio Zuloaga, Valentín de Zubiaurre, Aurelio Arteta or José Arrúe as well, Balenciaga.
