Our 18ct Gold Plate Cowrie Shell Necklace is part of our unique Tidal Collection. The necklace is minimalistic with an organically shaped cowrie pendant.

The cowrie shell has an incredible history, it has been used as a form of currency in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. In Nepal and India, it represents wealth and womanhood and used in certain ceremonies to worship the Goddess Laxmi.

Our necklace is inspired by a Cowrie shell found on a sandy beach from Tulum, Mexico.

This would make the perfect gift for family, friends or an ocean lover and can serve as a sentimental jewellery piece to remind someone of pleasant memories from a very special holiday or honeymoon.

The 18ct Gold Plate Cowrie Shell Necklace is handmade to order in our Brighton workshop from the finest sterling silver and finished in 18ct yellow or rose gold plate.

The shell measures approx. 0.5cm width, 1.8cm length and 1.2 cm width. It includes an 18" chain.

Our gold plated items are compliant with the Assay nickel release test (BS EN 1811:1998 and BS EN 12472) therefore they are suitable for those with nickel allergies.
