Founded in 1979 by a cosmetics company Australia, the first collection was created to sit alongside a line of sunscreens. Twenty years later, creative director Hamish Tame came across the brand, saw its potential and made Le Specs an eyewear brand in its own right. Bold silhouettes, irresistibly priced, cool collaborations, and of course, Tame’s magic touch has elevated the brand into sunglass stratosphere, making them a favourite among sunglasses aficionado and collectors. New lines often have waiting lists, usually after Rihanna has been photographed wearing hers. We love that despite their global success, the brand has stayed true to its roots, and its mission, which is to create incredible high-fashion eyewear without the eye-watering price tag.
