Kähler Canvas Vase Rose & Brown Ceramic Small
Design by Bache & Bendix Becker
Create your own city landscape with one or a selection of Urbania Lighthouses, a striking collection of porcelain buildings from Danish design brand Kähler reflecting the beauty and architectural diversity found in our modern urban spaces. Standing tall with a mass of tiny hand-carved windows, High Tower brings glorious shape to the collection as it spirals high with its intriguing assortment of cut-out shapes. A single tealight lit within the glossy white porcelain building is enough to create the effect of a vibrant, lively structure, shedding both its light and shadows across the city at night.
Kähler has been at the forefront of Danish design in ceramics since they were founded in the small town of Næstved in 1889, the year of the famous World Exhibition in Paris where they first made their mark. Their workshop soon became a meeting place for many influential Danish designers and their reputation as leaders in the field continues to this day.

The story of Kähler begins as early as 1839, when the Dutch potter Herman J. Kähler opens a small ceramics workshop in Næstved and turns the first Kähler vase. It marks the start of a unique design adventure that will one day resonate around the world. However, it is only when his son Herman A. Kähler takes over the famous workshop in 1875 that the ceramic adventure really begins.
