Sorry, this product is out of stock from Homefront Interiors but we’ve found some alternatives for you.
This lovely Bird Brooch has been designed by award winning author, designer and illustrator Coralie Bickford-Smith for Just Trade. The brooch is hand carved from the Tagua nut by women of the Yurac Muyo Project in Quito, Ecuador.
The tagua nut: is a seed from a type of palm that grows in the South American rainforests. Tagua may darken slightly over time, this is normal. It can be buffed up with a soft white cotton cloth. Never immerse in water as this can cause it to crack.
Often known as vegetable ivory, tagua nuts are an environmentally friendly and sustainable alternative to animal ivory. The back of the brooch is gold plated steel.
