- This A-2 deck jacket was adopted as a successor model of the N-1 jacket for the U.S. Navy's deck work. Compared to the previous N-1 model, this jacket has a different coloring and materials. As a result of reviewing productivity and cost, the outer material was changed from cotton grosgrain to back satin, while the lining was changed from alpaca wool to nylon fur. With regard to specifications, the A-2 deck jacket succeeds the basic details of the N-1, such as the button and zipper closure for the fly front and rib-knitting inside the cuffs. However, the A-2 deck jacket made changes to the collar and added a breast pocket and hem adjuster. Having a simple look and minimum essential functions, the A-2 deck jacket is a utility jacket typical of the U.S. Navy.
