The N3B was the first jacket that Alpha Industries did for the United States government in 1959 and which happened to produce for the consumer market in the 1980s for USAF crews that were assigned for the transport of troops in extremely cold climates . The Parkas were originally made with an outer layer of nylon and lining and wool intertry. Wool's interlodel was replaced by polyester in the 1970s. Modern N3B have tilted chest pockets and lower flap pockets on the shield, a panel that holds with ties through the zipper to prevent wind entry and Synthetic leather around the hood. The VF model of the N3B is a SlimFit cutting and has been designed as a cold weather parka for extreme weather conditions. The aerodynamic silhouette offers a unique adjustment, while the thick nylon lining and the length of the garment offers superior protection against cold and adverse wind conditions. 100% nylon and outer cover with nylon and polyfill lining.
