A stylish addition to any kitchen, this Limited Edition Groningen Alessandro M Corkscrew from Alessi is sure to make you smile as he helps you open that special bottle of wine. This quirky character was originally designed by Alessandro Mendini in 2003 as a self portrait, since then 'Alessandro M' has had many different outfits and disguises throughout the years as limited editions. The Groningen limited edition was created to mark the "Mondo Mendini"; a personal exhibition by the designer at the Groninger Museum (which he also designed) which was his last project before passing away in early 2019. Alessandro M is seen here in a multicoloured suit featuring the famous Proust motif used by the designer on one of the facades of the Groninger museum. This designer corkscrew 'Alessandro M' works by standing on top of the bottle and you turn his head clockwise to remove the cork. This limited edition Groningen corkscrew is a lovely collectors piece that will be thought of fondly for years to come, just like the designer. Chrome-plated zamak and thermoplastic resin.
