With campaigns for Nike, National Geographic, and Google under her belt - plus shooting the England Women’s squad long before the 2022 Euro’s win - it’s fair to say that West London-based portrait photographer Serena Brown is making moves.

Capturing her subjects in candid moments and putting a spotlight on untold stories, particularly those affecting working class youth across the UK, Serena places community at the centre of her work.

When she’s not shooting the likes of Arlo Parks and Jamz Supernova, you can find Serena keeping creative at home. “My favourite spot is my little workspace. Like everyone, I spent a lot of time working from home during the pandemic, so it became a priority to create a space that allowed me to keep creative and inspired even when stuck indoors. I spend so much time here, it’s a little corner in the flat that no one can disturb me in - most of the time I’m people-watching out the window, or bingeing TV shows while ‘working’...”

“It was important for me to have a space where I could see and access my cameras easily. I love this display cabinet so much, it reminds me of the compartments in my camera bag. It’s important for me to have lots of plants around too. I’m a big fan of colour and this was a simple way to inject it into the space and give the feel of nature that I have going on outside the big bay window too.”

“I’d describe my interiors style as tranquil and clean yet colourful. Just like my photography, I draw inspiration from people and culture. I love prints and sculptures of people. My dream home would be bright and airy. Anything that has lots of big open space with high ceilings - it would be cool to have big walls for me to shoot all my friends against. I’d have all my books and magazines up on a beautiful shelf. I love having all my favourite people around me, so I’d want enough rooms to host and entertain all the time.”
