For our fourth Trouva Exclusives launch, we’ve partnered with Bristol-based Chilean artist Carla Llanos. Inspired by Carla’s love of ceramics, we’re exclusively launching two prints from her latest collection of oil paintings, Serie Cerámica. VASE 05 features vivid blue and poppy red flowers on a dusky rose amphora vase; VASE 08 features inky blue flowers on an olive green costrel-style vase.

Each piece is rich in pigment, printed on high-quality matte finished paper, and hand signed by the artist.

50 x 70cm | £62 | Sold unframed

"Serie Cerámica was born from my obsession with ceramics. One of my dreams is to become a professional ceramist, so I thought “Why not paint them now?"

"I constantly look through art books and Pinterest for visual stimulation. I see something that sparks interest and that idea will follow me around for days."

Get Crafty: Create Your Own Bobbin Frame

Looking for a frame that’s unique to you? Follow our DIY guide to turning an old frame into a statement piece that will make your print pop.

You will need:

Ruler
Wooden frame
Spare bedsheet or tablecloth
Wooden domes (size depending on frame width)
All-purpose glue
Paint (we used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Burgundy 250ml)
Paintbrush

Instructions:

Step 1. Measure your frame to make sure you buy the correct size wooden domes
Step 2. Remove the backing and glass from the frame
Step 3. Lay your frame face-up on your sheet
Step 4. Work out the spacing of your domes by placing them around the frame before glueing
Step 5. Pop a small amount of glue in the centre of the dome and place it on the frame; work your way around to cover the entire surface
Step 6. Wait for the glue to fully dry
Step 7. Mix your paint before dipping your brush to ensure an even colour
Step 8. Start painting! Pay extra attention to the crevices so that no wood is left bare
Step 9. Wait for the paint to fully dry to avoid staining your print
Step 10. Add the glass back in, followed by your print and the backing
Et voilà! Your DIY bobbin frame is ready to display
