          Martin Baumgartner, the founder of Maerz, previously worked for high-end fashion brands in Berlin's department stores before opening Maerz in the heart of Friedrichshain. Stocking women's and men's fashion, Martin mixes classic design with more daring pieces which change seasonally.

          This is Martin

          Having lived in Friedrichshain for many years, he opened his boutique Maerz 14 years ago. In 2004 Friedrichshain was a difficult, political neighbourhood often blighted by riots, but over the years Martin has seen the area blossom with neighbouring independent shops springing up - a sure sign of regeneration.
